Symmetrical Y (pant fitting)

One inlet at the bottom, two equal outlets branching symmetrically left and right – for splitting or merging lines.

Inlet (bottom)

Connection type
Outer diameter · matches HT pipe (indoor drainage, EU) DN 50
Strong interference: sits rock-solid and seals, needs force to pull on.Clear interference: holds and seals by itself, can be pulled off with some force.Slight interference: easy to push on, seals, add a clamp for extra hold.Hardly any interference: for oval pipes, thick walls or frequent removal.Choose the clearance in mm – fixed, independent of the diameter (negative = interference).-0.35 mm diametral clearance = difference of the diameters, i.e. -0.17 mm per side. The presets grow with the pipe diameter: larger pipes get more clearance.

Tips for a good fit

Measuring the pipe

For a socket (the part slides over the pipe) the pipe's outer diameter counts, for a spigot (the part goes into the pipe or hose) its inner diameter. Measure with calipers at several points and use the average – plastic pipes are often slightly oval.

Without calipers: measure the circumference with a tape measure or a strip of paper and divide by π (3.14). The pipe presets fill in standardised sizes such as HT or KG drain pipes automatically.

Choosing the fit

The fit is the diametral clearance: bore diameter minus pipe diameter. 0.4 mm clearance therefore means 0.2 mm of play on each side. The presets grow with the diameter because shrinkage, ovality and pipe tolerances increase on large pipes – “Normal fit” gives about 0.45 mm at Ø 50 and about 0.69 mm at Ø 110. “Normal fit” is a good start for well calibrated printers, “Tight fit” holds by itself, “Loose fit” compensates for less accurate printers and pipes. A custom value stays fixed.

If unsure, print a test ring first: choose a small insertion depth, print, try it on, adjust the fit. Undo and your browser's back button always take you back to earlier values.

Printing

The model already sits on the bed in a printable orientation. For watertight parts use several wall lines (wall thickness as a multiple of the line width) and 0.2 mm layers. For warm water or outdoor use, PETG or ASA work better than PLA.
